Jordan Hasay finished seventh in her heat Thursday at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Ore., and posted the 20th-fastest overall time in the three heats at 4 minutes, 18.39 seconds.
As one of the top 24 finishers, Hasay advanced to Friday's semifinals but will not run in the semifinals as she's flying to Poland for the World Junior Championships.
Hasay was the only current high school runner in the race. Christine Babcock, a graduated senior who set the national high school record in the 1,500 earlier this summer and won the 1,600 meters at the CIF state meet, had the 19th-best time in Thursday's 1,500 at 4:18.32. Babcock was also seventh in her heat, running in the heat before Hasay. Hasay defeated Babcock in the 3,200 meters in the Arcadia Invitational in April.
The top qualifying time was turned in by Christin Wurth at 4:13.40.
